Woman Sentenced To Six Months In Prison For Violating Quarantine Restrictions In Australia
A woman has been jailed in Australia for six months for violating quarantine restrictions on the coronavirus.
Authorities allowed a 28-year-old woman from the Australian state of Victoria, severely affected by the coronavirus, to stay in a hotel for 14 days in quarantine when she arrived in Perth.
But the woman secretly came to the city and stayed at a friend’s house, from where she was arrested.
Violations of quarantine restrictions in Western Australia carry a maximum sentence of 12 months in prison and a 50,000 fine.
